For standard installation (also for retrofitting purposes) the respective CD92™ Mycronizer should be installed in-line between the purifier heater and the purifier, because the CD92™ requires a fuel temperature of min. 70°C for reliable operation.
The advanced installation (best possible on newbuildings) requires free suction and discharge connections at the FO-Settling Tank, where the CD-SR/TC Module is connected to. The CD-SR system now can be operated independent of any operational deviations at constant conditions. This installation also requires min. 70°C fuel temperature in the tank.

Achieving all the advantages of conditioned fuel requires the adjustment of the flushing sequences of the purifiers. Caused by the entire homogenous structure of conditioned fuel, with a majority of fuel droplets below 3 micron size (> 95%) the fuel is passing the purifier full stream. When now the flushing sequence remains at eg. 30 minutes (48 flushes/day) the entire content of the bowl will be discharged to sludge tank, without necessity. Valuable fuel will be wasted. Extension of flushing sequence to maybe 120 minutes (just 12 flushes/day) will reduce the sludge amount to just 25% of conventional amount. Experiences are stating, that also 180 minutes (just 8 flushes/day) are possible without any side effect.
